Cipher Dict (decryption)

Cipher Dict (decryption)

In this mission, you need to convert a nested cipher dictionary to a plain text to according to the following steps. This conversion is opposite to one in Cipher Dict mission.

  1. Starting from top dictionary, take keys and sort them in correct order into a block of digits. Blocks order should be strictly alternated and the first block must be ascending. Check value (dict as well) of each key in its turn to find next block and get new keys to check later in their turns.

  2. Concatenate all founded blocks into single decimal number.

  3. Convert this decimal value into a hexadecimal number and convert the result to string.

The description may be confusing, so let's look at the example.

example

Input: A cipher data as a dictionary.

Output: An original text as a string.

Example:

get_plain({1: {6: {3: {}}},2: {6: {5: {}}, 9: {0: {}, 5: {}}},3: {4: {5: {}}},6: {6: {4: {}}}}) == 'python'
get_plain({1: {1: {8: {8: {8: {0: {0: {1: {3: {9: {6: {},9: {}}}, 6: {2: {0: {}}}}}, 1: {8: {0: {1: {1: {}, 7: {}, 9: {}}, 7: {0: {}, 2: {}, 3: {}}}, 5: {7: {8: {}}}}},2: {1: {0: {2: {2: {}}}}, 4: {8: {9: {0: {}, 5: {}}}}}}}}}}}}) == 'You can read me.'

How it’s used: (It may not be valuable as a cipher, but it will be useful for studying character code conversion and dictionary structure.)

Precondition: The text contain only ASCII symbols >= 32.

CheckiO Extensions

CheckiO Extensions allow you to use local files to solve missions. More info in a blog post.

In order to install CheckiO client you'll need installed Python (version at least 3.8)

Install CheckiO Client first:

pip3 install checkio_client

Configure your tool

checkio --domain=py config --key=

Sync solutions into your local folder

checkio sync

(in beta testing) Launch local server so your browser can use it and sync solution between local file end extension on the fly. (doesn't work for safari)

checkio serv -d

Alternatevly, you can install Chrome extension or FF addon

checkio install-plugin
checkio install-plugin --ff
checkio install-plugin --chromium

Read more here about other functionality that the checkio client provides. Feel free to submit an issue in case of any difficulties.
