You could have made even better: <pre class='brush: python'>checkio = {'0'*6, '707409', '100478', ...}.__contains__ </pre> ;-)

Very good ;-) didn't realize that there are so few lucky numbers. This solution would also qualify in the "Speedy" category. BTW I wouldn't consider that cheating: precomputed tables are a common means to speed up repeated tasks, especially with poor processors.
