But I must say I'm inclined towards 1729, rather than the mere 73.

Of course, every number is interesting. That's the "Interesting number paradox". Or to quote John Littlewood "Every positive integer is one of Ramanujan's personal friends."

But since I still consider Srinivasa Ramanujan to be the greatest number's guru ever lived, I would go for the "second Taxicab number", which of course is 1729.
