I gave 3 points: - one for the solution - two for having "?!" in the subject line Normally I strain to use the most simple solution. But here simply comparing strings alphabetically feels kinda "wrong".... 🤷‍♂️

I usually prefer more descriptive titles but here, come on... It does not bother me to compare alphabetically (I sometimes to use dates in filenames to see them ordered a certain way). What bothers me is how basic the mission is. Next mission: `get_first = min`?!

It would be wrong if it were accidental. But in fact it (enabling string comparison to work sensibly for dates in usual range) was one of main design goals of ISO 8601.
