• Help for a COMPLETE newbie

Good afternoon.

I am taking a programming course for part of my Masters in Geographic Information Systems. The course is primarily in Python and its use with ArcGIS. The professor begins with the assumption that you have NO experience in coding/programming, and I definitely do not have that. My background is Liberal Arts (primarily history) so I'm having to develop the logic to understand what I need to do.

I have been reading through "How to Think Like a Computer Scientist" although I know I need the hands on exercises. I thought this might be a great place to start since learning in a game is great. With that being said, I see the Home Missions. I'm struggling with the organization, though. Is there a "Mission 1 for Python" that someone can direct me to?

Thank you in advance for helping an adult learner who feels a little out of his depth! Garet
