python or computer programming?

hey everyone. So I'm kind of a beginner when it comes to programmation etc, and I was wondering if I should continue on focusing on Python for now or learn more about algorithms etc (maybe a book like The Art Of Computer Programming? even tho it's long) what do you guys think? Thank you
