Nice, but misses a few tricks. For instance, (-1)**i is much shorter than what you wrote after ::. :-P

A great solution. But what does it mean *R? All elements in the range?

"*" unpacks all elements in the range (yeah) into a list because of "[]" brackets around "*R(...)". These two are equal, but the first one is a bit shorter, that's why I chose it. <pre class='brush: python'>[*range(start, end)] list(range(start, end)) </pre>
