itertools.compress() is what I implemented in my solution manually. Thanks for hint about this method.

Great solution! One question. ans = mass = sum(data) I think better would be copy mass to ans as python treat ans and mass as one in this line. Can you comment it ?

Numbers in python are immutable. If I read you right.

Multiplication of `sum` by `2` puzzled me for a moment, but overall it's a clear solution.
