I like this solution. I did mine similarly, although not using a lambda function. Always thought it'd be best to avoid recursion (which it appears was the approach taken by most of the other solutions) when you're not sure of the how deep the recursion could go.

This is really helpful. I tried to do this with regex but couldn't figure out how to make the string back into a list. It looks like this stays as a string.

Eval, hmmm. But processing through strings is lol idea! <pre class='brush: python'>flat_list=lambda a: [int(i) for i in re.split('\[|\]|,| ',str(a)) if i] </pre> 71 symbols like your solution. Ok, it needs "import re", +9 symbols :)
