I understood, that this code: <pre class='brush: python'>[x, ' '][x in '.,'] </pre> is equal to this one: <pre class='brush: python'>' ' if x in '.,' else x </pre> but the process of its work is still a secret for me :c Can anyone make an effort to lighten the dark room?

On the left hand side you've got defined list of two elements x and ' '. Now you want to extract one of them by checking if x is in '.,'. The result of this operation can be True or False. Beacuse bool is subclass of int then True is treated as 1 and False as 0

Interesting solution, but could it be really helpful in real life cases? I mean could be there a situation where this approach is better then ``` ' ' if x in '.,' else x ``` equivalent. Thanks
