Solution with regular expression operations. lambda function is redundant first_word = re.search("([\w']+)",t)[1]

Hi thx for your comment, but I don't get it^^ without lambda it doesn't seem to work for me...did I miss something? thx ;)

try <pre class='brush: python'>print(first_word) </pre> with lamba function and without it.

My bad. Your sollution is right. Sorry. <pre class='brush: python'>import re first_word=lambda t:re.search("([\w']+)",t)[1] print(first_word('Hello world')) # Hello </pre> I thought about solution with defining function when wrote code review (in quest) <pre class='brush: python'>import re def first_word(text: str) -> str: return re.search("([\w']+)",text)[1] </pre>
