Yes, but usually in bigger programs, it doesn't pay off. Sooner or later, you'll need that import in some other function, and then it's better to put it globally. Of course, if all your interaction with e.g. decimals is confined to one function, then it makes sense to `import decimal` inside that function. And in CiO, where you usually write just one function, it doesn't matter much. Important syntactical restriction: you cannot `from module import *` inside a function. But you probably shouldn't do that outside a function, too. :-]

Yes, abs for timedelta is interesting, in this case is the same but can be helpful in others.
