                                    <p>Definitely a first version, but it's not dict incremental but a dict trick
to a sort of 'case' which otherwise requires several if.
Here it's:
if c==' ': i+=1
elif c in VOWELS: i+=3
else i+=2</p>

<p>Which is condensed in:
i+={True:2, c in VOWELS:3, c==' ':1}[True]
The latest test will replace the previous assignment for True only if the
test is True and [True] at the end pick the answer.</p>

<p>The start of the code could have use same level of trick to make it a 2

                                    <p>It's common to use a dictionary to implement switch-case operator. But redefining items if key is equal <em>True</em> looks... tricky.</p>
