Why you prefer lambda over regular named functions? I do like your solutions, however, notice at least three of them you chose the Lambda way.

"named" is irrelevant... the name is just useful to CiO testing system. In many cases the name itself is just `checkio`, so you can't say that it is meaningful. What is important is that they are just expressions. If I had a `number` of type `str`, and wanted to see how many zeros it has at the start, I would just write <pre class='brush: python'>beginning_zeros = len(number) - len(number.lstrip('0')) </pre> I surely wouldn't write a function for that, unless I need it in many places. Lambda is the closest I can get to that ideal, considering the limitations of CiO testing system.

You don't have to be sorry. It is a method of the str class. <pre class='brush: python'>>>> help(str.lstrip) lstrip(self, chars=None, /) Return a copy of the string with leading whitespace removed. If chars is given and not None, remove characters in chars instead. >>> '00000304200'.lstrip('0') '304200' </pre> Do you have any more questions?
