Remember the abs(n) function, it returns the absolute value of its argument

Thank you. When I wrote it I forgot about abs(), and just used my mathematical skills. But also my method is 6 times faster then abs(). Please look at this time checks: <pre class='brush: python'>[ku@localhost ~]$ python3 -m timeit 'abs(3.15)' 2000000 loops, best of 5: 136 nsec per loop [ku@localhost ~]$ python3 -m timeit '3.15*3.15' 10000000 loops, best of 5: 20.5 nsec per loop </pre>
